knitting on vacation

I always bring knitting projects on vacation but seldom if ever work on them. I wonder why that is? I don’t particularly like to knit on the beach -- it’s an opportunity to stare into space, my favorite pastime, without drawing attention or ire. Back at the beach house, more starting from the porch, or reading. But I will probably bring a project, just in case.

Hi. I was wondering, is it possible to stare into space and knit at the same time? I don't think I've ever seen anyone knit on the beach and now I know why. Hot sand and wool don't seem to go together very well. At least you won't have sticky sunscreen between your fingers with your gorgeous tan skin!

If you can knit by touch you can knit and stare into space at the same time. I am bringing a cotton project to the beach -- maybe I will knit on the porch, but only if I feel like it.
